The Gingerbread Jingle

Time for a festive cocktail! 🥂

🎄The Gingerbread Jingle 🎄

This one is for the ginger and spice fans.

⭐️ ice & spiced bitters (we used @tsdistillers all-spice)
⭐️ Ginger beer (here we used @fevertreecanada)
⭐️ a dry apple cider (@hardwaycider’s Renegade is an excellent choice for this)
⭐️ @drinkwillibald Gingerbread Gin (available at @lcbo)

1. Put as much ice as you wish in the glass
2. A few dashes of bitters to your preference
3. 1.5-2 oz of the Gingerbread Gin
4. Add 100ml of ginger beer
5. Top close to the rim with cider
6. Stir and enjoy

Description:  Leans very gingery but it’s very warming at the same time. Gingerbread cookies optional but a highly recommended pairing.

The Tepeche

Warning: this one is strong! 🍍🍍The Tepeche🍍🍍 inspired from the excellent – and many times home brewed – Mexican drink, this cocktail is nicely spiced and very fruit forward.

⭐️2-3 cubes of ice.
⭐️.5 shot of @captainmorganca Pineapple Rum
⭐️1-1.5 shot of a spiced rum (we also used the @captainmorganca one)
⭐️1/2 can of straight apple cider – we chose @niagaracider as its bold and a lot of tannins
⭐️ 10-15 drops of all spice bitters from @tsdistillers
⭐️dash of cinnamon
⭐️topped with pineapple juice

Stir well and enjoy! (The cinnamon doesn’t sink well so it may partially float at the top but it seems to make it even creamier this way!)

Orchard Sangria

Ah, summer! The time of the year to go sit outside and enjoy a nice pleasant cold drink, with plenty of subtle flavours. Now, usually, I prefer sipping either sangria or a good semi-dry cider in my garden, so I figured, why not combine them both? With the nice tartness of the cider and the rich flavour of a good peach schnapps, with fresh stone fruit, this makes a perfect summer treat

1 473ml can of a semi-dry cider (cold)
1 oz of peach schnapps
1/2 peach or nectarine sliced, and pit removed.

You can sub peach brandy or liqueur if you are unable to get some

First put the fruit in the bottom of a collins or pint glass, and pour the peach schnapps over it. Let sit for 10-15 minutes, then top with the cider. Stir and enjoy

Rood Mojito Drinker

The perfect Summer Cider cocktail that will refresh you to the core: The Rood Mojito Drinker

1 oz of Kettle One Botanical Cucumber Mint Vodka
1/2 can of Rood Apples (adjust to your preference)
Juice of a quarter of a lime
Muddled mint.

Ice (if you like it, in your cider)
Change the cider, change the taste

Spiked Candy-Apple Cocktail

With a new offering from Crown Royal, we figured it might be good to pair it with a cider, and we were right!  Simple but tasty

Crown Royal Salted Caramel 1.5 oz
Pommies Cider 250ml

Salt (Add a bit more umpf to it)
Ice (if you like it, in your cider)
Change the cider, change the taste

Description:  A spiked spiced cider with some caramel to keep you warm in the winter, a licking your lips.  We call it a Spiked Candy-Apple cider cocktail.

Canadian Spring Cider Cocktail

Longing for the spring?  Can’t take it anymore (Kinda like Sterling, the Cider Corgi here)  Well, how about something that has the taste of a Canadian Spring, Maple Sugar!

Desaranto 1.5 oz
Calvados 1 oz
Thornbury spiced Cider 250ml
Cinnamon spice stick

Fireball (to give it more kick, replace the Calvados or Desaranto)
Change the cider, change the taste

Description:  A spiked spiced cider with traditional Canadian maple syrup flavour, it reminds us of a Maple Sugar Cookie. An alternative to a desert, just watch out for it catching up to you with the 2.5oz of spirits in a half can.

Baked Caramel Apple Pie

Baked Caramel Apple Pie

The Cherry Berry Orchard

More crisp cider: Brickworks Batch 1904

This beer-cider cocktail is perfect for a warm, sunny day. It is fizzy, foamy and very refreshing. Bursting with many different fruit flavours, its sweet, sour and fully delicious.
